Our Story
Filatrice began with Gabriela’s search for clothes that brought together the femininity she loved and the quality she wanted to feel in every piece. Clothes that made getting dressed feel special, and that she would want to keep.
That wish took her to Italy, where she began developing a small collection with an atelier. Through fabric choices, fittings and careful adjustments, a personal vision became A Love Letter to Femininity, Filatrice’s first collection.
Gabriela's Vision
For Gabriela, Filatrice's founder, the beauty of a garment includes the care behind it. She values Italian craftsmanship for the knowledge developed over years and passed between generations: an understanding of fabric, an experienced eye for proportion, and hands that know how to bring a design to life.
That care carries a responsibility. We believe the people who make our clothes deserve respect, and the women who wear them deserve materials chosen with thought and attention.
We would rather make fewer pieces well than choose poorer fabrics or place less value on someone’s work simply to sell more. Filatrice is something we are building with love, and the way we build it matters to us.
Made in Italy
We work with an Italian atelier to bring each design from pattern to finished garment. Fabric, cut and construction are developed together, with attention to how each piece sits and moves on the body.
Materials and details are chosen for each design, from the Velata blouse’s silk crêpe de Chine and mother-of-pearl buttons to the Presenza coat’s blend of wool and cashmere. That care continues through the seams and finishing inside each garment.
Pieces to Return to
Our pieces are designed to complement one another and find a place alongside the clothing you already love. Familiar pieces, worn in new combinations, become part of your own way of dressing.
